The Wildschönau, an idyllic high valley in the Kitzbühel Alps, is known for its tranquillity and natural beauty. The region is ideal for varied activities for the whole family - from exploring untouched nature to exciting adventures in the mountains. The Markbachjoch is known far beyond Tyrol's borders as a nature and hiking paradise. In winter, it impresses with its wonderful ski slopes. The toboggan run on the Lanerköpfl is particularly suitable for tobogganing enthusiasts. In summer, all hiking and biking enthusiasts get their money's worth here. The panorama hut offers space for up to eight people and is the ideal retreat for an unforgettable vacation in the Tyrolean Alps.
Renovated in 2024/2025, the log cabin impresses with its rustic charm and has been furnished with high-quality materials. The natural wood creates a cozy atmosphere and provides a real cabin feeling. Guests can relax in the three lovingly furnished bedrooms after an eventful day in the mountains. Each room is equipped with a comfortable double bed to ensure a restful night's sleep. The hut has two modern bathrooms with washbasin, shower and WC. The fully equipped kitchen with electric hob is ideal for self-catering, and the cozy dining area invites you to enjoy convivial evenings.
A beautiful garden with garden furniture and barbecue area offers plenty of opportunity to enjoy the fresh mountain air and spend relaxing hours outdoors. The absolute highlight of the Panoramahütte is the in-house sauna - the perfect place to relax and recharge your batteries after a sporty day in the mountains.
In summer, the Panoramahütte can be accessed directly via a forest road. In winter, transportation is offered by skidoo or cable car.

... IN WINTER
In winter, there is the famous Markbachjoch in the village of Niederau in the Wildschönau. This is the ski center in Niederau. There is something for everyone - easy beginner slopes or more challenging, longer slopes. They make the Markbachjoch a fine, smaller area. Cross-country skiing is possible on leisurely snowshoe hikes. The beginner slopes for children are right in the village center. A fast toboggan run starts at Lanerköpfl.
... IN SUMMER
In summer, the sky above Niederau is covered with colorful paragliders and hang-gliders. The leisurely Franziskusweg footpath takes you to the main village of Oberau. The Markbachjoch is also a popular starting point for beautiful hikes from easy to difficult in summer. The views are magnificent. Popular hiking destinations are the Kasalm/Holzalm, the Norderbergalm, the Rosskopf or a somewhat longer tour to the Feldalphorn.
